We acquired it from<br />the estate of an early hobby pioneer. It was sold to us by a young<br />college student and fellow Wharton alumnus, Rob Lifson.<br /><br />That same year Rob convinced us to pay a then record price<br />for another 1893 issued item- a near mint Just So Chewing Tobacco<br />card.<br /><br />Today both those items still adorn our collection.<br /><br />Thanks for always pushing us ahead, Rob.<br /><br />The only disappointment for us was that three years after we purchased<br />the game, another legendary collector, and Board Member, outbid us in<br />a Richard Woldder's Auction for a Just So card of Mr. Zimmer.<br /><br /><br />Bruce Dorskind<br />America's Toughest Want List<br />bdorskind@dorskindgroup.com

Posted By: <b>Anthony S.</b><p>Zimmer was a righty. I assume the game manufacturers figured most of the kids who would be using it were right-handed. If the batting mechanism represents a lefty, the kid using it (ie, sitting behind how plate) would press down on the button with his right hand to spring it.

I like folks starting new threads and topics so am always reluctant to say too much....but lets lock the other one and let this one go.....no worries.....If this was our worst problem we would be pooping in tall cotton (as my dad used to say...though he used a different word)...regards<br /><br />PS...Folks- please try to make titles of threads a little more specific....a thread entitled "Wow" ...doesn't help much....<br />and Bruce- with all due respect your Just So is nice but at least a few technical grades below nrmt....still a great card but as a Wharton alumni I figured your group would prefer to espouse the truth....
