Posted By: Mike Peich
Last Friday morning I had a pleasant visit with Bruce Dorskind at his New York City apartment. We fit the visit between appointments for both of us, and Bruce did manage to show me some of the highlights of his collection. As I knew from his posts, he is extremely knowledgeable, passionate about the early game, and broad-based in his collecting interests. I was particularly impressed with his Negro League memorabilia and cards, as well as his Federal League collection. Equally impressive is his baseball sheet music collection, some of which is framed and prominently displayed. His cards are truly high grade, and they are among the rarest in our hobby. As he has noted, his is America's toughest want list.

I enjoyed my brief stay with Bruce, look forward to seeing him again, and, as always, enjoy his posts. My only frustration is that I wish more of us could have similar visits to the collections of others on the board.

Happy Memorial Day to all.

Cheers,
Mike

Posted By: barrysloate
I've seen Bruce's collection many times, even spent two days at his apartment cataloguing it for him, and he does have some really great stuff. Mike, if I knew you were going to be there I would have stopped by and introduced myself (with Bruce's permission, of course).

I'm sure it would be quite a bit of fun to browse.

Jason
