Posted By: Rob
I'm somewhat new to the auction scene and haven't received a whole lot of catalogs, but wow I thought a double-edition phone book was sent to me! This thing is THICK. Like 700 pages, every one in color. If i start reading now, maybe i'll finish by Xmas!!

nice pictures too!

Rob

Posted By: Mark
Still waiting for mine, though I have poured over their website and placed lots of initial bids. I suppose Seattle is among the last regions to receive these, so will remain patient...

I do agree with Dan, that between Mastro and REA, the quality memorabilia offerings have dwindled at a pretty alarming rate.

Posted By: boxingcardman
and that was skimming.

These catalogs are getting too big. I appreciated how Mastro broke theirs into the normal catalog and the smaller format nonsports catalog. I was able to carry around that smaller book like a paperback novel.

I would like to see these "phone books" broken into one or more smaller catalogs by area of interest (like cards in one book, memorabilia in another) to make them lighter and smaller.

Sic Gorgiamus Allos Subjectatos Nunc

Posted By: Bob
I got both of them Saturday. It was like the old Sears Christmas book when I was a kid. I made a ton of qualifying bids Monday plus some higher bids that I thought would be solid for quite a while. Boy was I wrong I guess the recession is not affecting some collectors at all...

Posted By: Iggy
I received my catalog yesterday and next thing I know I'm reading it in a church and stuck with a giant dilemna. You see, after a long day at work I arrived home, fetched it from the old mailbox and then barely had enough time to pick-up my 10-year old son and take him to his "communion" rehearsal (the actual communion is this Saturday, for those who want to attend...). Anyways, I'm sitting in the corner of the church reading the darn thing, when all of a sudden I realize, hey I'm inside a church. It probably wouldn't hurt to say a little prayer, after-all, it's not like I'm going to ask for every single lot in the auction. So what the heck, I said a little silent prayer for a few of the lots in the REA auction. Right now, I'm feeling real confident but I do have one concern. If I win any of the lots, should I split the cards with the church (if so, does it have to be 50/50, or will 80/20 suffice)??? Or is it just okay, to say "thank you" and keep all the cards??? Has anybody ever run into this problem???

-Lovely Day...

Steeped in gayness."
- George and Allison, as he tries one more tactic to end the relationship, in "The Outing"

Then again, there was this quote, which would seem to absolve Dan of gayness (not that there's anything wrong with that):

I'm single, I'm thin and I'm neat."
"And you get along well with women."
- Jerry, Elaine and George, on why some people might thing Jerry is gay, in "The Outing"

* Kramer: Aaaah! Enough lying! The lying is through. C'mon, Jerry, the masquerade is over. You're thin, late thirties, single...
Jerry: So are you.
Kramer: well yeah... (jumps back in fear)

* Jerry: I've been outed! I wasn't even in!
Posted By: leon
I think as long as you don't spill the little thingy of grape juice on said cards you are in good shape...and I think you only have to give about 10%-15% of the card to the church...maybe a small corner.....

Alan- yeah, I think it's something like a Bar Mitzvah....or a circumcision or something??
