Posted By: barrysloate
Peter- I think I need root canal, or at least a crown. One tooth really hurts. No fooling.

Edited to add I think Crosetti is correct.

Posted By: peter ullman
barry...if your tooth hurts for no reason...spontaneous pain...good chance you need a root canal. If pain is only w/chewing...maybe a cracked tooth or a loose filling needing replacement...if cracked tooth...crown...maybe root canal...hard to say.

Posted By: barrysloate
I bit on an uncooked popcorn kernel and broke my upper right molar, and had a crown put in. Now the tooth right below it hurts, and my dentist thinks I might need another crown as he saw a hairline crack. I'm just hoping it goes away (I know, it won't).

Posted By: peter ullman
thank goodness for uncooked popcorn kernels...they keep me in business!!!!!!! Sounds like the tooth below has a crack too barry and should have a crown done. I'd recommend having the tooth prepared for a crown. If...while you have a temporary crownon the tooth...there are no adverse symptoms...have the crown cemented. If symptoms persist...have root canal done before crown is seated so the dds doesn't have to drill a hole in a nice new crown. The crack itself...warrants a crown...sometimes cracks can run deep...into the root canal system necessitating a rct. Good luck, Barry.

pete in mn

Posted By: Rawn Hill
Me thinks I may be the only one left my area with all 32 teeth. The toothbrush must have been invented in my area or it would have been the teethbrush.
