Posted By: Anonymous
Neat article, thanks for sharing. Ty Cobb and the Tigers trained here in my hometown of Waxahachie at Jungle Park (now known as Richards Park and named after Paul Richards) and that is where I got to play high school ball at. Great atmosphere. The Tigers would stay some years at a local hotel named Rogers Hotel and it has reopened directly across from our historic County courthouse (I work in the courthouse) Cobb mentions Waxahachie in his book written by Al Stump.

Mike

Just ask for me when you come in the building (I'm on the third floor, I'm the County Auditor) , and I can take and show you the field if you are interested. I don't participate a whole lot here on the forum, but I just discovered it a few weeks back and lurk and read a lot. Thanks for the forum. Take care,

Mike
