Posted By: Ralph
I wanted to know if anyone knew anything about this great vintage photo. It was done by Cochrane Studio in Charleston WV. Any info would be great. I am attaching a photo so you can have a look.

Posted By: PC
Looks like a very faint "M P J" or "M P T" or "M R T" (?) on the jersey of the fourth player (fifth person) from the right.

Charelston is the capitol of West Virginia, and because the studio was located there, you can assume the team was (relatively) local. You might look for local schools that have been around for a while, with the letters M P or M R in the school name or the team name.

You might also contact the local Charleston newspaper or historical society, and send them an email or letter with that photo.

Posted By: DMcD
This is very tenuous. One or two of the players have what appears to be the letter "H" on their caps. Couple that with PC's sharp-eyed "MPT" and you get, maybe, Hampton. There is a Hampton, WV about 80 or 90 miles NE of Charleston, WV just south of the town of Buckhannon. Couldn't find any schools by that name in WV; I could barely find the town. Like I said, very tenuous. Anyway, a very neat old baseball team picture. Good luck.
