Posted By: boxingcardman
As if we didn't have enough trouble already, some baboon is selling reprints of Zeenuts and old Exhibit cards. They look good enough to pass in an online setting, which is very disturbing. How soon these will start popping up for sale as legit cards is hard to say but it is only a matter of time. They are being listed in the legit prewar ebay sections.

http://tinyurl.com/yvfa2x

If anyone has a contact at ebay, can they send in this seller and get this crap out of there?

Sic Gorgiamus Allos Subjectatos Nunc

Posted By: Steve Murray
Unfortunately eBay will do nothing with these listings.

1. Seller clearly states in title that it is a REPRINT.
2. He goes further in his description to identify the item as a REPRINT and goes even further to state that he made it.
3. Nowhere does he state in the listing that "there is no word REPRINT on the card. This is the scam that other try to use in making one believe it could be real.

I don't like the fact that they are listed in the category for genuine items.

I wonder where he gets his scans to make these real looking reprints.

Posted By: Frank Wakefield
I have "contacted" the high bidder, jackanthony503, on the Cobb CJ card, letting him know it is a reprint. 8 hours left in the auction, now.

It is crap like this that burns a potential new collector, souring them on the hobby altogether. We need new collectors, not fewer.

Posted By: Steve
Many newbees are duped by these 1-Day/weekend/holiday auctions as they fly well below the radar when ebaY staffing is at minimums and are a clever Hit-N-Run tactic. Also, more profitable than a 7 or 10 Day auctions that are frequently reported and taken down.

Reporting; If good folks are consistently correct in their reporting, I understand, they're allowed into the ebaY "Circle of Trust" and their complaints are taken seriously.

My reports were often unheeded initially, but are now. Try it, it's fun, it's educational and Sam Adams would be proud!

Handy reporting Bookmark for counterfeits, authenticity disclaimers etc;

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/replica-counterfeit.html
