Posted By: Matt
That's the first part of this move that has been done solely for the consumer and not PSA's bottom line. Good job PSA!

Posted By: Jeff Prizner
from their website...

UPDATE: New PSA Labels

- February 12, 2008
After receiving feedback from numerous hobbyists, we have decided to revamp the PSA labels to distinguish cards graded after the new half-point system launch from those graded previously.

The new PSA labels will contain the same general information; however, the grade number (8) will now appear directly below the description of the grade (NM-MT) on the right side of the label.

For example, the label will look something like this…

1933 GOUDEY #149
BABE RUTH NM-MT
8

All newly PSA graded cards, will exhibit the new style labels so hobbyists can distinguish between cards graded before and after the change.

It is important to note, however, that this will not apply to reviews. Cards that were graded prior to the half-point system are not cracked out of their current holders unless they clearly have a chance at receiving the half-point bump. For efficiency reasons and in hopes of keeping our turnaround times within estimated range for our customers, it is important that we handle reviews in that fashion.

Posted By: MVSNYC
thanks Jeff, i just read that on their site, too...that's good.

but we still won't know if a card has been reviewed and missed the bump...oh well, guess we can't have everything...

Posted By: Phil Garry
Of course, this way they can have new buyers of a card re-submit the card over and over again hoping for a bump in grade without knowing that it has already been tried by a previous owner of that card.

Posted By: Matt
I just figured out the solution to the re-submission problem.

PSA should indicate in it's cert database, which certs have been reviewed. That way buyers would know if their card had been submitted for a bump and PSA would not have to remove the cards from their slabs.

Posted By: Matthew
If a card is submiited for a bump up in grade and does not get the bump up psa should automatically change the case to a new Style case. That will show card was already submitted. Psa is counting on the same card to be submitted not stop flow of money they will be making/
