Posted By: Jeremy
I am a new member here, as a matter of fact, this is my first post! I am an active member of several forums and was told to come here for opinions on these cards. The first 4 scans are of my cards, front and back. The last 2 scans are of a PSA graded Aaron with the same slant on the lower right of the card, to show that it is an obvious known flaw with the issue. Now to the story on where I got these. My father, who is a retired police officer and constable, is also a gun dealer. He and another man have a pawn shop. One day, my dad calls me up and says there is a man in here with a box of old baseball cards and wants to sell them. I went down there and met a man, about 6'2", shoulder length mullet, 3 teeth, holding a very old model airplane box. He said he had just inherited his uncles estate and was selling off everything, and found this box of cards in there. I opened the box and there were probably 7 or 8 stacks of cards in there, 50 or so to a stack, all with dry-rotted rubber bands stuck (and I mean stuck) around them. They were 1954 Topps baseball, 1954 Bowman baseball, 1954 Bowman Football, and some Non-Sports Topps Cards of Davy Crockett and World on Wheels. I took out a stack and peeled the rubber band fragments from around them. The outer 2 cards were ruined with stains from the rubber bands, but the inner cards were nice, almost like pack fresh! I found the Aaron and Kaline in the same stack in the middle (thank God). There was a complete run of the 54 Topps SPs in there, as well as many other stars. The 54 Bowman baseball yielded many stars including a nice Willie Mays. I realized then that these cards had been in this box since they were bought. I bought the cards from the man. I have since sold all of the cards, many to board members at CU (cwazzy got alot of 54 Bowmans, he can tell ya about em), and have only kept these 2. So there ya go. I welcome any opinions as to the grade if submitted on these 2 cards. Thanks in advance!
