I'm thinking a more modern piece... <br /><br /><img src="http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z105/pstratt63/Memorabilia/benhogan208.jpg"><br /><img src="http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z105/pstratt63/Memorabilia/benhogan212.jpg"><br /><img src="http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z105/pstratt63/Memorabilia/benhogan209.jpg">

A collector can find printing plates for a variety of products, including magazines, books, advertising, etc, though a new or old example with Ty Cobb's image is rare. It's possible it's a printing plate used to in the making of a publication, like a newspaper, magazine or book. The most common printing plates found are from newspapers.

The 1980 set sppears to feature signatures similar to the Cobb plate.
