Posted By: Mark T
Just got this in the mail today, thanks Peter...

The bottom is cut off and i am trying to find the name of this News boy. If i am correct, there were 8 different cities that produced news boy photos and this i know is from Detroit. Just wondering if anyone would know this lads name. I did a Net54 search and Peter asked the same type of question a while back. Thought i might get someone who would recognize the picture.

Thanks

?t=1201889132

Posted By: 1880nonsports
I can narrow it down to one of the following 10 players:
I. Cohen
R. Cohen
E. Daisey
B. Dinsmore
A. Downer - like this name -reminds me of game show
"the names the same" or sumptin like that
J. Flood
C. Gallagher
C. Kellog
I. McDonald
R. Sheehan
I'll keep researching......

Posted By: Rhys
The deductive logic on this issue probably will not work. I have owned 4 of these and each one was uncatalogued and many of the "newly discovered" examples are not previously known to exist so unless you see this exact card in an old photo with a name, you probably will never know he he was. These cards are so rare that only 1-2 of each is known to exist so the odds of it being an uncatalogied player is about as good as it being one that has been previously known.

Rhys

Posted By: Anthony S.
Look at the bright side, Mark. If that turns out to be a previously unknown example, and you own the sole copy, you can name him yourself. Like a puppy.

Posted By: Mark T
I really would like a name for this kid so i can send it to SGC and have it slabbed AUT with a name. I searched Google and many other places and have come up empty.

Edited to say: Ha, Ha....Anthony, this kid looks like a Charles to me but thats just a guess (<:

Posted By: Rhys
I agree that it never hurts to post and use the logic, I am not saying anything about the attempt, I was just letting the person know how rare these are and the abundance of uncatalogued cards so that he does not use that logic and then think it has to be one of the 2-3 that can not be accounted for.

Rhys
