Posted By: Ray Piskadlo
Just saw this card and wanted to post. Font wrong on front and no factory designation on back. Somehow it appears to be entombed in the Topps plastic.

Item# = 230196597437

Based on seller's feedback and what he sells, don't even think he realizes it.

Posted By: Ted Zanidakis
This card has a Piedmont 150 back.....the telltale clue is that Dubuc is in the 350-only Series.....he can't have a "150" back.

Also, the Factory info is missing....but, that could have been erased.

TED Z

Posted By: T206Collector
...thing you need to see is that horrible black font. Obvious reprint. And, frankly, the people that are bidding $26+ for that card deserve to own it. Though sadly they are putting their (blind) faith in a Topps holder.

Posted By: Ray Piskadlo
I emailed the seller to let him know that the card looks fishy and told him why. Hope he takes me seriously. Glad to see I'm not senile at 31!

Thanks for the confirmation.

Posted By: Matt
Anthony/Dwight - the question of "should I stay away" is more then just is another card he is selling authentic. If (and we don't know this yet) the seller knew that the T206 was a fake (or even worse, did it himself) then you have to question all of his dealings as he is not above cheating a buyer. Furthermore, ideally, you wouldn't want to be supporting a 'crooked dealer' in our hobby.

Posted By: Anthony S.
True, Matt. In this instance, however, I took into account the fact that, judging by his feedback descriptions, everything this seller has sold up until now is modern. He only has two T206's (and a couple boxing cards) currently up for auction. And that's out of 242 auctions. If he'd sold several tobacco cards in the past on Ebay, then I'd be suspicious. How he reacts to Ray's e-mail will be telling. If he threatens to hunt him down and "beat him like a woman" like that wackjob did to Dan a couple of weeks ago when he e-mailed him about the fake DiMaggio card, that should give us pause. My assumption, until we have proof to the contrary is that this seller simply didn't know any better.

Posted By: Matt
larry - can you expound on that? What happened in the transaction? I've never seen a buyer give negative feedback for no reason.
