Posted By: <b>leon</b><p>but I buy and sell a fair amount of caramels and an SGC 40 common that was $185-$210 a few months ago is about 20% -30% down from that. I also speak with David Bryan fairly frequently and he agrees with this assessment...not that we have scientifically evaluated it....it's just a gut feeling from where I see prices right now.....

The market for good material is still strong, and while I do see some weakness, it is generally with issues that seem to appear a little too frequently.<br /><br />I don't know if condition plays into your analysis, but I would rather have a tough card in lower grade then a VG card that is a little too common.

I just struggle to see how this growth rate in the mid/high grade material is sustainable and I feel that anything I buy now is buying high. I suspect this material will soon price itself out of the market - with limited upside given the decreasing demand at these prices. <br /><br />In the meantime, I am more than happy to pick up some clean psa 4/5 versions at the discounted prices - I hope it lasts for at least another few months (I am in the biggest buying mode since high school).

Posted By: <b>Joe D.</b><p>certain sets go in and out of favor.<br /><br />but certain players seem to be consistently strong.<br />Honus, Cobby, Matty, Walter Johnson, Joe Jackson, Ruth, etc.<br /><br />I think...<br />Last year D304s were hotter than they are now<br />T210s were hotter than they are now<br /><br />I think T206s have cooled. Actually T cards in general are not as strong as the e Cards.<br /><br />But - for sure - no matter what set we are talking about - the big named players (like the ones mentioned above) - are as strong as ever.<br /><br /><br /><br />And, for some reason it always seems that prices are weak for the items I sell, and strong for the ones I buy <img src="/images/happy.gif" height=14 width=14><br /><br /><br />edited - spelling. probably more to edit.

Posted By: <b>Bob</b><p>leon- Agree and disagree. Some issues have cooled in lower grades, particularly E93, E95, E96, while E94 and E99 remain very strong. E97 and E101 appear to have leveled off but remain strong. E98s fluctuate, hard to get a feel for them. The scarcer cards in the set, even in lower grade, continue to climb.<br />I also agree with the poster who said T210s have started coming back to earth as have many of the Zeenuts in lower to mid grade.

Posted By: <b>nbrazil</b><p>T3's are ridiculously priced compared to last year.<br /><br />D304's had a slight surge in prices earlier in the year, but have cooled down.<br /><br />Non rare, non high tier HOF T206's have gone down a bit. The rarities and top tier HOF'ers still go for solid prices.<br /><br />Cracker Jacks are strong in all grades.<br /><br />Share the same sentiment as Joe...cards of certain players will always be strong.<br />

Posted By: <b>David Bowden</b><p>I have noticed the same thing as Jeff. When I started collecting last year T206 PSA 7 commons were selling for $750-$800. Lately they have been in the $450-$525 range.
