Posted By: Bob
Hate to out an ongoing auction but the seller has a number of these, all with the backs removed but immaculate fronts. Too immaculate? They look an awful lot like the T205 reprint set which was issued about 20 years ago. The seller specializes in GI Joes and Barbie dolls so a lot of red flags. His feedback is 99.9% so I think this may be a case of an honest seller who just doesn't know they are questionable cards. What do you think?
http://cgi.ebay.com/1911-T205-RICHARD-MARQUARD-GOLD-BORDER_W0QQitemZ140176322209QQihZ004QQcategoryZ868 41QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Posted By: Matt
Word of caution on that seller:
Last week, he sold me a Wagner Fan Craze that ended up being a reprint. He has agreed to refund my money on return of the card, which is currently in the mail. He seems to be a decent guy in his communications, but as I have yet to receive the refund (not sure why he wants the worthless card back to process it) I would advise all to proceed with caution.

Posted By: Tom Boblitt
would be not real........the way the paper pulled on the back doesn't look like a normal paper pull from a real T card to me..........plus the corners are SO strong.

Posted By: Iggy...
Here is the history on these reprint. Originally, they were sold as a lot. At the time, the seller also had a T206 Wagner in another listing. Here is the link on the T205's:

http://cgi.ebay.com/120-plus-collection-of-tobacco-cards-some-baseball_W0QQitemZ320170119103QQihZ011QQcategoryZ4 4821QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

After the auction ended, I emailed the buyer and voice my concerns. The buyer, subsequently took my advice and backed-out of the deal. A few days later, the lot appeared on ebay again. This time, ebay halted the auction (probably, because he didn't have the word reprint in his description)!

So, here we are again. Gotta' give the guy credit for perseverance, but he is a stinker in my book!

-Lovely Day, Iggy...

Posted By: Matt
Martin - the seller changed the listings because of this thread. Ebay did not intervene, so they're still sleeping...

Posted By: Martin Neal
I didn't notice that he had changed the listing. I usually ignore them but it is sort of interesting to see the lengths someone will go to try and deceive.
