Do you have a better reference. It will help us...

Thanks

Simon

On 11/10/07 21:20, "eBay Member: type-card-collector" <member@ebay.com> wrote:

Hi Folks
I am an absolutely addicted collector...I know these cards like I know the alphabet. You can tell by the back what series it's from. My reference is the American Card Catalogue by Jeffereson Burdick. He is the one that literally invented the numbering system and "e" is for early gum and candy cards. E94 were Close Candy cards....E92 had 4 different series....but are still E92, and Dockman is one of them..... I also own/moderate an extremely lively chatboard about vintage baseball cards....and have my own website also...You can see these types and many many others under my "personal collection" tab on my personal website...luckeycards.com.....hope this helps...
take care
leon
Posted By: Steve Murray
Looks like an e94 to me but Bob is the expert and may chime in. Color looks a little off. Back is definitely wrong as it is an e92. Seller has a number of nice e cards listed so he probably just put up the wrong back scan.

Posted By: Lobert collector
It's an E94 Lobert front, but not an E94 back, obviously. It's either a super rarity, fake card, or mistaken back scan by seller (hopefully). Just wondering if anyone had dealt with this seller previously.

Posted By: Tony Andrea
I think the seller just has his scans mixed up. To me, it looks like
the scan of the E92 Dockman back listed in his E94 Lobert auction is the back to
his E92 Dockman Bescher he has up for sale. That top left crease matches
up perfectly. Although he has many raw cards up for sale, they look good
to me. Here is the link to the Bescher card I spoke of that I think is the
one shown in his Lobert auction. That back scan in his E92 Bescher auction
clearly isn't to that card.

<a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/1909-Dockman-E92-Bob-Besher_W0QQitemZ170158148868QQihZ007QQcategoryZ868 40QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem</a" target="_new" rel="nofollow">http://cgi.ebay.com/1909-Dockman-E92-Bob-Besher_W0QQitemZ170158148868QQihZ007QQcategoryZ868 40QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem</a>

Posted By: Bob
I've been watching these E94s since they came on and thought the back scan was just an error, that he had an E92 elsewhere and just mixed up the back scans. I still am a little skeptical about the E94s because the green Devore's colors look odd and the blue Lobert looks striking like one I bought raw about two months ago but it may just be his scanner in the first case and a coincidence in the second.
This definitely looks like a Paypal instead of cash or check payment situation because of the ability for Paypal to refund for unauthentic cards. If the cards are legit and his and not "lifted" scans, then good luck to the seller!

Posted By: Jim VB
Dave,

I had the same problem. It's our computers, and it's easy to fix. Your computer's cache memory is retaining the image (the wrong one) from this morning. While on the ebay page, press "Control" and "F5" at the same time. This will do a complete refresh of the page and bring up the new scan he loaded in.

Posted By: Matt
Bob - Paypal will refund for un-authentic cards? Since when? My understanding with Paypal is that as long as the buyer shipped the card, you are SOL as far as they are concerned. Has anyone actually gotten a refund from Paypal when a card came back from a grading company as forged?

Posted By: Jim VB
I got a Paypal refund last week for a card that had been trimmed. I bought two Sport King cards from the same seller. Scans looked OK. When I got them one had been trimmed an 1/8 inch top AND bottom. Seller basically told me they would do nothing, that they told me in the ad that they "knew nothing about cards" and that the sale was "as is."

I filed with Paypal. They told me to return the card, track and prove delivery and then they would investigate. Two weeks later, they gave me a credit.

Proving authenticity would be tougher than proving trimming though. You'd have to get it graded inside their time guidlines.

Posted By: Matthew
Simon B. is a great guy & a top-notch seller. I have had multiple positive transactions with him & I would have no problem bidding on any of his auctions. I don't see a return policy stated on this particular item, but he used to take returns if the buyer was not happy with the item.

I was sort of hoping these would fly under the radar
