Posted By: Dave F
I went after three of these..but unfortunately they were the same three that Dan went after...so not only did I not get any of them, but obviously ran the price up on him as well. I was a little suprised there wasn't more interest in them...or is everyone's take they went higher than they should have?

http://cgi.ebay.com/1910-Bishop-Coast-League-E99-HARRY-WOLVERTON-RARE-B-800_W0QQitemZ260164355402QQihZ016QQcategoryZ86841Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

http://cgi.ebay.com/1910-Bishop-Coast-League-E99-GEORGE-CUTSHAW-RARE-BV-800_W0QQitemZ260164356148QQihZ016QQcategoryZ86841Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

http://cgi.ebay.com/1910-Bishop-Coast-League-E99-BEN-HUNT-RARE-BV-800_W0QQitemZ260164357142QQihZ016QQcategoryZ86841Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

http://cgi.ebay.com/1910-Bishop-Coast-League-E99-IVY-OLSEN-RARE-BV-1000_W0QQitemZ260164357592QQihZ016QQcategoryZ86841 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Posted By: Zinn
It think they were priced about right. If they went a little higher I would not have been surprised. The one Portland went higher because there are active Portland collectors who compete for them. The Cutshaw went where it did because of condition. My snipes on three of them came in third.

Posted By: dstudeba
Sorry about that guys. The prices were about what I figured. Brian McQueen and I used to beat each other up over them but he has seen the light and is not mired in silly minor league issues such as this one. I don't know anyone else actively building this set.

Posted By: Bob
I was actively pursuing them also but was trying to win them without sniping, an impossible chore. I thought I was going to get a steal on the Hunt which stayed low until the snipes hit in the final seconds, because it appears shorter than the rest and the bottom edge looks like it could be lightly trimmed. Hope not Dan, it is a beautiful card.
I thought the prices were about right for the 4 cards.

Posted By: Dave F
I tried getting them all the old fashioned way last night myself Bob. It was doable since each auction ended about two minutes apart. What sucks is when some of these sellers have a few cards going one night and they all end in the exact same minute...then you have to choose just one or two to go with, and if you miss them...you miss them all...never understood why sellers list everything at 9:15 for example when everything ends at once...

Posted By: dstudeba
Bob -

I thought you were getting rid of type cards.... . I agree with you the Hunt does look a bit troublesome. If it is trimmed, such is life. It won't be the first trimmed e99 in my collection, and it presents very nicely.

Posted By: Brian McQueen

Congrats on your new e99s Dan...some of these are of players you don't see too often. I wouldn't say I'm out of minor league collecting just yet. I actually just simply wasn't around this past weekend (spent the whole weekend moving and didn't have internet access from Saturday night through a little earlier tonight). So I basically was out of touch for a few days. Had I seen these, I probably would have at least tried for the Cutshaw - very nice card! You don't see too many caramels from the 1908-1912 range depicting a player in a suit. Cutshaw has a couple nice poses in the Bishop's sets - his e100 is also the only horizontal Bishop in either set.
