I used to snag these for literally nothing with Cobb going for about $40-50. Now they cost about $5 each for beat up ones, HOFers will set you back about $100 and and I've seen Cobb go for close to $500. Not sure why people are paying so much a piece of a full card.

As my brother pointed out, for what just the Cobb end panel is going for, you can get the entire panel with a Cobb for just little bit more and even less depending on condition.

Jay

The richest person is not the one who has the most, but the one who needs the least.

The yellow likely was to help hide any missing gold
that flaked off. You will once in a while find a genuine T205 missing the gold, usually
a scrap.

Maybe now's the time to sell these:

(I never thought I'd ever have an opportunity to post them!)

Posted By: J Levine
All of his T205s are fakes or reprints. As noted before most gold borders have yellow printing under the gold (some have pink and a few a weird green). Gold borders do not have glossy or matte finish on the fronts. The back colors are wrong as well. These are poorly made to look older and the seller was notified but no response yet.

Joshua

Posted By: Steve Murray
I emailed the seller. Two responses:

First: They are original otherwise they would have the word "reprint" on them.

Second: I'm beginning to think you are right. I'm contacting the owner to get ot the bottom of this.

Received a third email. "Jack, you are right. I'm pulling all of the auctions..."

Posted By: J Levine
Oops...okay...under the gold borders on most cards are indeed white, yellow, pink, or green. I do think it corresponded to the sheet placement. I think cards in the middle of the sheet had white underneath but cards at the edges might have had different colors. Just a theory.

Russ, they are not rebacked...the backs are off on colors and sizing.

Joshua

Posted By: Russ Bright
If that theory is correct, Joshua, then this is ACTUALLY is a rare card - is the general concensus that this is a T205 that has had the gold washed off? I've been collecting the T205 set for a while, and seen a TON of T202 panels passed off as white border T205's, but NONE with the "Honest" back - they all have the normal T202 Hassan back.

Is it a reprint that has had the Gold removed? the card looks very clean with 1 slight crease - I'm not saying it's real, but whatever it is, someone DID go through a bit of trouble to MAKE this

Posted By: jay behrens
I'd say it's a reprint. The stock looks wrong and in general, it just doesn't look right. It's definitely something that you want to see in person before spending good money on it.

Jay

The richest person is not the one who has the most, but the one who needs the least.
