Posted By: Bob
Since I no longer read SCD, I was just curious, what are these? Do they really contain unopened packs from 1960 baseball and 1957 football as advertised? Has anyone disovered an unopened 1952 Topps pack?
http://cgi.ebay.com/POSSIBLE-MANTLE-1952-TOPPS-ROOKIE-UNOPENED-WAX-PACK_W0QQitemZ230170747391QQihZ013QQcategoryZ44827 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Unopened packs from those years are available, but usually are seeded 1:million or something ridiculous like that. I would stay away unless you want to open some cheap modern packs.

James

Posted By: barrysloate
I don't think you need a promotion to sell a genuine 1952 Topps unopened pack (high # no less). There are more than enough buyers willing to pay top dollar for them.

But that's an extremely deceptive ad because it shows a 52 pack smack in the middle of the cellophane. What else is new?

I remember they had one box where you were guaranteed a Tony Gwynn autographed baseball with COA. You got your money's worth. I remember I bought two, not certain I would actually get a Gwynn ball. After I did from both, I went back and bought the rest. I additionally got a John Schmoltz autograph from one of them.

Posted By: peter chao
I didn't get anything interesting from the box I opened. But I did get some "exciting" '86, '87, '88, and '89 Topps and Donruss star cards. Great, exactly what I didn't need.

Peter C.
