Posted By: barrysloate
A few guesses:

Weldon Henley, July 22, 1905
Mal Eason, July 20, 1906
Earl Hamilton, August 30, 1912
Tom Hughes, June 26, 1916
Ernie Koob, May 5, 1917
Bobby Burke, August 8, 1931
Clyde Shoun, May 15, 1944
Ed Head, April 23, 1946
Clay Buchholz, September 1, 2007

A couple of these guys may have cards, but I doubt all do.
Posted By: Tim Newcomb
Hi Barry,
Those are good guesses-- I've got cards of

Earl Hamilton (M101-4), Tom Hughes (M116), Bobby Burke (33 Goudey), Clyde Shoun (W753), and Ed Head (1941 Dodgers team set, if you call that a card)

That leaves Henley, Eason, Koob, and Bucholz...

I want to say Koob might be in a W strip card set, but not sure.

What about Rube Foster (1916)? I'm not finding any cards of him off the top of my head.

Also, what about the only Federal League pitcher to throw a no-hitter, Ed Lafitte? I think he is different from the Minor Leaguer Lafitte in T206? Is Ed in the Cracker Jack set?

Posted By: Brad Green
Here is just one card of Buchholz. I'm sure there are many more. Most minor league teams have baseball card sets with the players on those teams.

http://buytime.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=1402953

The price for the card is $40 today. I wonder what it was this time yesterday.

Posted By: Tim Newcomb
I'm still wondering about Rube Foster.

He is (obviously) not the same Rube Foster that's in the HOF as a Negro League pioneer. This one would be George Foster (1888-1976). It's odd because he played on very well-known teams (Red Sox 1913-17), but he seems to have fallen through the cracks.
Can anyone supply a card of him?

Tim

Posted By: Frank Wakefield
Holloman is #69 in the 1990 Baseball Wit set, and is #306 in Topps 1991 issue of their 1953 Archives set.

He wasn't in any issue contemporary with his playing days, which is a normal way of thinking about such things.

Posted By: Paul
Bobo Holloman pitched a no hitter in his first start, but he made a few relief appearances before then. Buchholz threw his no hitter in his second appearance of any kind. Does anyone know if that is a record? I think it must be, but I've heard nothing about it.

Posted By: Glen Turner
Jay:
You mentioned George Rube Foster being on a 1924 Zeenut card. Do you have this card?
I sure would like to see a scan of it. I knew George when I was a kid.
He is also on the 1913 Fatima Team card of the Boston Red Sox.

It was his only game of the year and he had just 2 career wins.

Ted Breitenstein pitched a no hitter in his 1st career start for the 1891 St Louis Browns of the AA. Hes in the t206 set. He pitched 5 career games in relief before that start, all in 1891

Posted By: jay behrens
Glen, I do not have the card, just an extensive checklist of major league players and what cards they appear on, including minor league sets. There are a lot Zeenut collectors here, so maybe one of them does. Chances are, Mark Macrae has it and if he reads this hoefully, he might post a scan if he has one available.

Jay

The richest person is not the one who has the most, but the one who needs the least.
