Posted By: <b>Jeff J</b><p>O/T - does anyone know the last time a single team had back-to-back League MVP players (two different guys)?<br /><br />With Chase Utley leading the league in BA, 17 HR and possibly a MLB record for doubles in a season, just thought it MAY be a possibility...?<br /><br />Who was last team to have two back to back MVP's with diff players... Posted By: <b>Jim VB</b><p>Last time in the NL was 1978-1979 when Dave Parker was followed by Willie Stargell (shared with K. Hernandez). <br /><br />Last time in the AL was 1998-1999 with Juan Gonzalez followed by Pudge.<br /><br /><br />It's actually happened fairly often. In fact at least 4 times (twice in each league), teams have gone for three in a row with three different players. I think the last was Maris, Mantle and Elston Howard in 1961, 1962, and 1963.
