Posted By: Alan Elefson
Hi-
I recently purchased this tin (for a dollar) at an antique shop and I had a couple of questions about it that I was hoping this board might be able to answer. I realize this tin was made after cards were inserted with Allen and Ginter tobacco products, but I was curious as to its approximate age. Please see the scans below for details but one of the sides states that A & G is now owned by the American Tobacco Company. How long did the ATC keep using old company names? Specifically, how long was A & G used? I remember this being discussed in a previous thread, but I could not find what I was looking for via the search feature.
As to A & G cards (sports or nonsports), were they only issued in packs, or did they come with certain tins as well? I realize this post is on the fringe of OTness, so please feel free to use it to show your favorite A & G card or other item.
Thanks,
Alan Elefson

Posted By: Zinn
just one half hour ago I attempted to soak an A&G off off a scrapbook page. Someone forgot to tell me that A&G's are two ply so lo and behold the front just soaked right off leaving the back firmly attached to the scrapbook page. I now have a blank back A&G. Wonder if SGC will give me an AUTH. Oh well.........
