Posted By: joe
This won't grade. SGC deemed counterfeit. Bought this on ebay December 6, 2000 from a dealer in Texas. I was never able to get my money back from the dealer. The funny thing is he is still selling. I actually saw his name in a post from someone who met collectors and dealers at the Cleveland National this year. And he bid on one of my items a short time ago. Pretty sad that I got ripped on this card.

Joe

Ty Cobb, Spikes flying!

Posted By: leon
I saw Brooks at the National. He is a stand up guy so not sure what the issue is. Obviously if he sold you a reprint he should refund your money. One small thing...Brooks does have a vision issue. He is almost blind....I know that doesn't really matter as a fake is a fake but I think sometimes he makes honest mistakes due to that. I might try to contact him and see what's up...For the record he is one of the only people to return a sale I made. I sent him scans the size of the whole computer screen (as I knew of his vision issue) and when he got the card (an SF Hess one) he said it was not from the set he was looking for .....No biggie and I did the refund....best regards

Posted By: Turner Engle
I had the oppurtunity to sit down and have breakfast with Brooks in Cleveland. He is a great guy, and is very easy to talk with. I can also vouch for his bad eyesight as I had to read his bill for him.

Turner

Posted By: joe
I'm sorry to hear about his eyesight, but I purchased this card for $1150.00 and sent it to SGC and it came back as counterfeit. I emailed him and talked to him on the phone. His answer was I had the card over 30 days and he did not trust that I might have switched the card. I still have the printouts from the ebay pages. And the letters I sent to the Post Office about the fraud. Of course nothing ever happened with the Post Office. As far as I am concerned he screwed me and I guess he will have to live with it. Just that every time I look at the card and the paperwork it burns me. He also claimed the card was graded by SGC and he did not like the grade and broke it out of the holder. Sure! I have sent him emails especially after he had the guts to bid on one of my items. He has never answered since the day I talked to him on the phone after the transaction.

Joe

Ty Cobb, Spikes flying!

Posted By: leon
Actually that's quite a rare strip card. Not worth a terribly not, even in nice condition, but very scarce....I would grade it "ex" except for some light soiling...
