Posted By: Pennsylvania Ted
Probably the T206 most seen card is the Red Ty Cobb......Scot Reader has classified it as one of the SIX
Super-Prints; and, this certainly is true as this T206 is available with at least 23 different T-brand backs.
Which include the tough Broad Leaf 460, LENOX, Red HINDU, and UZIT.

Yet, I know of only one SOVEREIGN 460 card....and, it resides in a Net54 member's collection. I have been
looking for this card for over a year for my all-Sovereign set and cannot find one.

So, I'm asking....Has anyone else on Net54....seen, or has, a Red Cobb with a Sovereign 460 back ? ?

The other five Super-Prints............

TED Z

Posted By: Scot Reader

Ted,

I have watched T206 auctions on eBay pretty closely since October 2003 and have seen two examples of Cobb (Red Portrait) with Sovereign 460. I think another is likely to show-up on eBay sometime in the next couple of years.

Just to reiterate the superprint theory, the six 350/460 superprints are the ONLY T206 subjects that are possible (at least in theory) with all 350 and 460 back types, except are not possible with American Beauty 350 without the frame. All other subjects that appear with both 350 and 460 backs, which I call 350/460 regular prints, can be found (at least in theory) with American Beauty 350 without frame, but cannot be found with American Beauty 350 with frame, Broad Leaf 350, Carolina Brights, Cycle 350, Sovereign 460 or Sweet Caporal 460/30.

Scot

It took me a while to find Evers with a Sovereign 460 back.

And, I'll be checking out T206's at the National.....I might just get lucky ?

Scot, are going to be at the National ?

TED Z

Posted By: Pennsylvania Ted
By my count, there are 23 different backs that the Red Cobb is found with.

The SOVEREIGN 350 is tougher than most, but not as tough as the following.....

Sovereign 460
Broad Leaf 460
Carolina Brights
DRUM
Red HINDU
UZIT

Good question

TED Z

Posted By: mark
thanks ted-
noticed that "lenox" was not mentioned in the list of most difficult backs...
would it really be more common than a sovereign 350?
is there a complete list of all 23 backs in the order of their perceived scarcity somewhere that i can consult?
regards,
mark
