Vancouver Baseball Meeting August 25

Posted By: <b>Max Weder</b><p>For those planning their summers, I thought I'd give first notice of the Vancouver meeting for the Society of American Baseball Research. (<a href="http://www.sabr.org" target="_new" rel="nofollow">http://www.sabr.org</a>)<br /><br />It's Saturday, August 25, and will be from 2 pm on. The first part of the meeting will take place at Nat Bailey Stadium (newly refurbished), with a bbq to follow at our house. There isn't a class A game that night, but the meeting at the stadium will be the first time we've had it there.<br /><br />I'm lining up old ballplayers to speak, and anyone is welcome to attend, with no admission charge.<br /><br />If you're interest in further information, let me know.<br /><br />Max<br /><br /><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1182/528814018_716fde22a1.jpg">

Posted By: <b>Mark Macrae</b><p>Max... It's about time they remodeled that decaying stadium. Hopefully they tossed out the old scoreboard too. Who would want such a barbaric remnant in a city as beautiful as Vancouver... I've heard about these bashes for years, mostly from you & mutual friends. If one of our mutual friends is able to coordinate a "SICK-ly" presentation a few hours south the same weekend, you might see another visitor from California showing up. From what I understand, Canadian law mandates that restaurant service tipping can be no higher than 6% (5% Canadian)..... Southern bash is going on the previous weekend in Oaktown of which you are invited as well... <img src="/images/happy.gif" height=14 width=14>
