Posted By: leon
I think this is a little overdue so my apologies.... The new contest will be to guess the ending price of this card on ebay WITHOUT GOING OVER THE AMOUNT.

http://cgi.ebay.com/E94-Close-Candy-Cy-Young-Cleveland-HOF-SGC-10_W0QQitemZ120117037016QQihZ002QQcategoryZ57993QQ ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

All bids have to be in by May 15 at 12pm EST (which is board time)....you can edit your guess one time. Any guesses or posts with edits after that time are going to be disqualified. If there is more than one edit to a post you will be disqualified. The first one to guess a certain price gets that price slot. So if someone guesses $500.50 and someone else does too..the first one to guess that number gets that slot. The winner of this contest will get an SGC20 Buchner Gold Coin of Morrill that was in lot 48 of the last REA auction..it can be seen there and courtesy of the seller of the E94, our own Barry Sloate...It has a nice front and a little back damage....also the winner will get this Tubby Spencer E96 (only), in this scan (since they were a topic today)....good luck and happy bidding....

edited to change one of the prizes

The new prize will be the Tubby Spencer card that is pictured (and I have it in hand now ) ....sorry for the small mistake and thanks again for the heads up from the board member. If anyone wants their money back or to withdraw their guess it will be ok. That card was sold about a month ago though.....Also, yes Tim- this is from the Net54 Banner Advertising slush fund monies.....When they went up I said we would do at least one of these a month....I think we have done 4-5....good luck to all....it looks like there is some spirited guessing going on....The N284 hasn't changed and is still part of the prize..regards

Posted By: leon
I hate to change the rules mid stream but, since it's your card being auctioned, and you are helping with the prize, I will let you make the time to stop...Remember it's Eastern time on the board. I would definitely make it at least several hours beforehand...Maybe tomorrow at 12pm board time? Your call....

Posted By: leon
Unless Barry chooses to change it, it stopped at 12pm today...and that is what I intended to do on the front end of the contest....I thought it would make it more fair....maybe so maybe not, I guess....

Posted By: leon
I was out having dinner with my 10yr old little girl and wasn't around for the closing. Bob Shannon is in fact the winner as Barry said. Richard Masson- $1 over....and was technically closest....but no banana my friend .....There will be another contest soon.....Thanks to everyone who played.....I think it was pretty good except maybe next time, if we do "guess the ending price" the cut off to bid will be about 8 hours beforehand...depending on the time of day and so forth....
