Posted By: Joe

Hi, I'm new to the boards but not to collecting. I have been collecting sports cards for about 28 years. For a short time I had a lull but now I am back and loving every minute of it. I
have been using a new sportscard site called SportsCardLink.com and it has been working very well for me. I list the cards from home without any fees unless a card sells. The site also has highlights built in such as HOF, rookie, highest graded etc. at no extra charge. So far I have sold a few cards some at my full price when a buyer hit buy it now and others with the bidding and counter bidding system. Either way it is a win-win situation for the seller because they have complete control of the price. And the commission rate seems very reasonable for the high level of service and quality of the site. So I say to the guys at SportsCardLink good luck and keep up the fine job and I am looking forward to my first payment on my sales. And to those of you who have not tried the site give it a shot you have nothing to lose. Thanks and lets all keep enjoying this great hobby.

Posted By: leon
I might add they are a banner advertiser for this board on both the front page and the B/S/T area. So far I have only heard good things about them.....And of course I wish them the best. I would greatly encourage all board members to click on the banners every now and then to see what's going on with these fine companies. (No, we don't make anymore from the clicks you do..the ad rates are static) ....Brian and I thank them very much. For the record all advertisers have to be approved to advertise, there is no more room on the front page to advertise, and a few advertisers have been given the boot...for various reasons. best regards and good luck to the Sportscardlink folks.....

Posted By: Dan Bretta
So if someone is a banner advertiser they can start threads with the sole purpose of pumping up their service? The post was so transparent that the only thing you can do is laugh.

I can live with the banners - they don't bother me, but I would prefer the threads stay commercial free.

Posted By: Chad
Really, I have no animosity to the company, but that "post" read like the testimonials for Sea Monkeys they used to print at the back of my comic books. Seriously, best of luck to them and thanks for the chuckle.

--Chad

Posted By: Anonymous
Thanks for the replies. I do not have a financial interest in the company. Just passing on a good experience I have had. I have used Ebay and other forums and companies in the past. Since this site is new and seems to be working well I thought I would mention it to everyone. Thanks and have a good one.

Posted By: Steve f
I'm told those Xray Specs never worked well either.

I've bid on items in Sports Card Link. Even though I've been rejected each time (Joe, was that you?)... I think it shows promise as an ebay alternative.

Posted By: Chad
I guess I had wised up by the time I was old enough to, um, NEED the x-ray specs. So, sadly, I never owned a pair.

--Chad

Posted By: E, Daniel
I agree the original post reads odly....but what difference is there between it and James F's hypothetical thread regarding T213-T216 numbers - at a time when he has ebay sales going on for T213's, and a BST announcement of those sales...?

Daniel

Posted By: Chad
But there's nothing contentious going on in this thread. Nobody's getting slammed--there's just a bit of funning is all. All is strangely calm here in Net54 world. An end of Auctions euphoria?

--Chad

Posted By: barrysloate
Leon- you must have had an Uncle Miltie Ant Farm- those were state of the art. Each ant had his own little condo.

Posted By: Dave F
Dylan...I believe there is no fee for listing...just a 10% commision for what card sells for...I think.

Posted By: James Feagin
You really must think very little of me Eugene. Again, you make suppositions without knowing a shred of detail. Could it be that I gasp enjoy Louisiana issues and enjoy trading them at the appropriate B/S/T and talk about them in the appropriate forum? Talk about a lot of time on their hands...
