It appears to have the same typesetting as the Burdick book.

Thanks,

Max

Posted By: mr. moses
this is part of the series known as the world tobacco index. It was issued by the Cartophilic society every 7/8 years(?). It includes specific references and checklists to ALL tobacco manufacturers, insert cards, trade cards, banners, albums and more from around the world. The set has 5 books + some compendiums I believe. The British have always taken their card collecting more seriously than we have. I bought my set of five from the London cigarette company in the mid 1990's for 160.00 or so including shipping and maybe VAT (have CRS so............). A must have for any serious collector.

Before the advent of the specialist Baseball catalogs appearing in the 80s(?) the WTI provided the only significant listings of vintage baseball cards like the Old Judge series.

Much of the information has now been superceed with additional cards in checklists, compendiums of back variations etc, but for a TRUE collector the series is a MUST addition to their library.
