Posted By: leon
I am not singling anyone out and I love the whole world....but lets be a little careful on how many off topic threads we are starting....pretty please. If I look down the front page it seems a little more like water cooler talk (and some is fine) than a pre-war vintage baseball card chat board. I am not saying not to do any...but lets try not to start too many in the very near future....I have had an email or two about it too....If anyone needs to start one then go for it...but please remember the focus of the board....thanks much.....hugs and kisses.....moderator dude

Posted By: barrysloate
I don't start any, but I always manage to veer threads off course. I will try to be more conscientious.

And to change topics, off to Manhattan to meet the Net54 gang for dinner. See you guys tomorrow.

Posted By: Brian Weisner

Hi Barry,
I'll help you by leaving Seinfeld out of my post for a few days...

Hi Rob,
If you really want to "save the whales", you need to learn another language and join another board. I believe Japan is the world leader in harvesting whales, and has been for about the last 30 years or so.

Be well Brian

PS In Cabo last week I saw several Hundred, including Blues, grays, and Humpbacks. Watching them breach is really cool.... I 'll send you some pics if you like.

Posted By: boxingcardman
Too many O/T topics. I don't mind some fun inside a thread; that's what friends do. But topics on football, current sports events, and so forth. Too frequent.

Posted By: Mike
I get very tired of political discussions. Politics is of great interest to me on a daily basis. I love it. I follow it very closely. But not in here. Please.

Posted By: Rob Dewolf
If my "saving the whales" post had been dripping with any more sarcasm, it likely would have shorted out your computer.

I think saving whales -- and seals, for that matter -- is a noble endeavor, if that's one's cup of tea. Just not on a board whose focus is vintage baseball cards.

Thanks, Rob

Posted By: Alan
I agree there are way too many off topic posts. Most, if not all of them end up on politics.
Is it because many topics (threads) on vintage baseball cards have already been discussed ????????

Posted By: leon
The issues might have been discussed but there are more out there. I really don't want to squash anything that pertains to us collecting...but the very OT stuff needs to quiet down a little. I have had several more emails this evening saying the same thing. I agree too. I guess we can only talk about "e"'s and "t"s for so long? I would also like to make a personal private challenge to everyone that thinks there are too many OT subjects. How about doing something about it and start a thread that you are interested in pertaining to the reason you came to this board in the first place? This really, really was not aimed at anyone in particular. Most of the OT's are started by great board members that we all know and like....thanks again and Breast regards

Posted By: Dan Koteles
I appreciate the hidden attention !.....problem is society turns its back on things of importance .Guys like you that dont feel pain for something that screams and bleeds, then is a smart alec like yourself ,should just mind ones own business. Barking up the wrong tree w/ me. Alls you had to do was not chime in for something that you dont care about. Turn your back your whole life....set a standard for those around you to follow. I opt not to turn my back everytime.

Find some compassion in your life one day.....hell just plant a tree ....do something !
