Posted By: T E
I know we're not supposed to talk about current auctions, but this one is so weird and off-the-wall. Leland's is auctioning off the house Wagner built and lived in after 1917. As I recall, this is not the first time the owners have tried to sell this building. Starting bid is 130K.

Is someone going to buy the house and strip it down to the foundation looking for a T206? Or perhaps someone is such a Wagner fanatic that he will buy the house, leaving behind his current home/life and probably wife to move to Carnegie, Pa? All to say, "I live in the house that Wagner built?"

Or maybe one of our members with deep, deep, deep pockets will buy it and have it moved to their backyard in Beverly Hills or East Hampton for the kiddies to use as a playhouse?

Just wondering.

Posted By: T E
It did have a smoking room in the original blueprints. However, Wagner, miffed at the tobacco companies for not paying him enough money, demanded that the architect cut the smoking room from the plans, hence the big hole in the back yard.
