Posted By: davidcycleback
The story about Rickey Henderson is that, at the end of the year, the Yankee accountants were stumped by a discrepancy in the team books. As the story goes, the Yankees had paid Henderson a $1 million bonus and he framed and hung the check from his wall without cashing it.

Posted By: jay wolt
Virtually every dealer I know collects cards and/or memorabilia
as well, myself included.
For me, this is why I chose this field as my full time profession,
simply put, I can build a nice collection and for cards I choose to
sell, I can play with them till they are spoken for.

Posted By: Mike
The only time I sell anything is to upgrade. If I buy something, it becomes like family. (corny I know). I 've sold maybe six cards in the last 10 years. I should add sometimes I sell something that I bought 10 or 15 years ago, that no longer interests me, or fits my area of interest. I doubt I could ever become a dealer, because it is so hard to part with them. I've considered becoming a dealer many times, but just haven't pulled the trigger.

Other cards which I want to sell, nobody wants. So I end up keeping all the cards.

Which is really not that bad.

Peter
