Posted By: peter chao
Who knows, maybe Manny has finally found his calling. It was obvious that he didn't like playing left field in the majors, maybe he was meant to sell grills.

When bidding gets this crazy, I doubt if the buyer is really going to come up with the money.

Peter

Posted By: davidcycleback
If bidders were bidding because they thought it belonged to Manny and Manny expected it to sell for higher because the bidder's thought it was his, but the grill was his neighbor's, that would be fraud. The only reason for having Manny being photographed with the grill and saying it's his is because the seller thought the Manny provenance would raise the sell value. If it turns out to be his neighbor's, I hope Manny's more honest when when representing jerseys and bats.

Posted By: Jason Carota
I'm not sure if it is his neighbor's grill. The official Red Sox article's wording makes it sound like it's his.

<a href="http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070320&content_id=1852512&vkey=spt2007news&fext=.jsp&c_id=bos</a" target="_new" rel="nofollow">http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070320&content_id=1852512&vkey=spt2007news&fext=.jsp&c_id=bos</a>

Posted By: davidcycleback
eBay stated they ended the auction as the registered seller was not listed as Ramirez, they were not able to contact the listed seller and had no confirmation Ramirez was the owner.
