Posted By: barry arnold
it's nearly 3 am so i'm going to beg for some help so i'll quit analyzing and 'reframing' this 206 checklist tonight.
it's odd how 'the checklist' has turned out to be so important to me---when
i was a kid i hated opening the packs and getting a checklist as a card.

anyway, i was working on the players who are designated as being on
2 different teams but are not 'identicals'-like the 'identical' Dahlen portraits,Elberfeld portraits, etc.
So far, it looks like Ball NY, Cleveland; Herzog Boston,NY; Lake NY,
St. Louis; H Macintyre Brooklyn,Brooklyn & chicago; Schaefer Detroit,
Washington.
what else is there---please.
many thanks, T206 scholars. And Good night.

Barry

Posted By: barry arnold
Many thanks Judson,Steve,Elliot--and for the email TRex.
Just returned from a long 'honeydo list' day but will try to be
a little clearer than I was at 3am,Ted.
I've been wondering a bit more about the T206 checklist designation
of variation, particularly team variation---when the player is listed with
different teams while retaining the 'identical' picture. Here i think of
G.Brown,Dahlen,Demmitt,Kleinow catching,Lundgren,O'Hara,Frank Smith--
and Elberfeld. As noted by Elliot here and by others on some current threads, the
Elberfelds have different eye colors. It is making me wonder about my
assumption re: what i called identical status for the others listed
G.Brown,etc. I need to do a closer inspection. Help.

Further, I wonder how Elberfeld should be identified, given the team
variation but lack of identical status. Certainly, it doesn't fit
with the different team status/different pose status of Ball,Herzog,Lake,
H. Macintyre, Schaefer. But where? And what is the significance of this?
Help.
Judson, I'm not quite sure about your Willis point. Would you please
elaborate when you get a chance.

all the best,

barry

Posted By: barry arnold
Many thanks Yawie!
I was a little dense on that one.
Anyway, have you seen any delineation of the variations that takes into
account what I'm talking about. I'm trying to clear up a bit of the murkiness in this whole variations arena.
Great hearing from you, by the way!

all the best,

barry
