Posted By: leon
I will just ask a question for a few others that have to be thinking the same thing, unless I missed something. Is there something you wanted to say about these cards/grades you posted? Not quite sure I understand...or are you just happy you got them back?

Posted By: Jim
I posted a submission that is coming back from SGC with a few vintage cards that I thought people in this forum would enjoy hearing about and seeing when they arrive.

Did I do something wrong here?

Posted By: Jim
ok good, thank you.

I've seen people here show off 50's and 60's baseball, boxing cards etc so I didnt think I had broken any rules. I was just hoping to get some feedback on grades etc. The T218 is the highest graded SGC example of that card. I was really hoping too that there were some folks who might collect the 1943 Cuban set that is mentioned. I will post scans when they arrive if anyone wants to see them.

Posted By: leon
Sorry, I didn't mean to sound rude (for once) and I did. We mostly talk about pre-war but you can read the rules, or just hang out for a while (as I think you have), and know what we talk about. All card collecting is cool.. Thanks for sharing....best regards

corrected grammar

Posted By: Jim
Thanks. I would like to share the photos when they arrive if anyone is interested.

No need to apologize. I can handle the abuse One time I was chastised here because my avatar wasnt pre-war...haha.......I'm thick skinned.

Posted By: Ryan Christoff
Jim,

I thought there was a thread a few months ago about your 1943 Ambrosia card. Just do a search for Ambrosia.

They didn't put "Imprenta Montiel" on the label, did they?

-Ryan

Posted By: Jim
Ryan - thank you, I'll look for it. As far as the label, I havent gotten them back yet but I'll post a pic when they arrive.

as for those with 5 day late subs, I know they were in Cali at a show and didnt get back for a week. Mine were at the post office on the 21st of February, they picked them up on the 26th, marked them as received on the 21st (giving me credit for the true arrival date) and they were shipped today. All on the 10 day express level. If you go by the 21st date, its 11 days, if you go by the 26th date, its 8 days......I cant complain. My subs have always been returned on the money.

PSA customers complain about 3 month waits.

Posted By: Jim
Ryan - you mentioned some rare Ambrosias. Do you know which ones are rare?

I have the Angel Rodriquez and I just purchased another player from the Vedado team.

Posted By: davidcycleback
On the CU board, people often post their latest grades (PSA of course), and others comment. That's what Jim was doing with his SGC grades.

As Jim's list included both one Pre-War card and one baseball card, it was a legal post under Net54 bylaw 223J subsection C.

Proceed.

Posted By: Al C.risafulli
I love it when people post their grades. It's cool to see what other people are submitting, and it's always nice to share that little "win" when someone finds a tough card that gets a nice grade.

Thanks for sharing.

-Al

Posted By: Steve M.
I think it should turn into an SGC bashing thread. My "Express" submission was logged in February 15. Here we are 16 business days later and it still shows as "Not Graded".

Posted By: Bruce MacPherson
Steve,
They must not like you very much. I just checked my submission that was logged in on February 21. The results came back yesterday. So my 10 day "Express" service came back in 11 days. Not too bad.

Posted By: Rob Dewolf
If it makes you feel any better -- and I suppose there's no real reason why it should -- you and I are in the same boat. My submission was received Feb. 15, and still no grades. In my case, though, the submission was 15 Kahn's cards of Cleveland Indians from the late 1960s. So I doubt anyone is taking those home and showing them to the wife and kids.

Posted By: leon
There is no section like David mentioned in any rules about this board. He was just messin' with ya' > I do kindly suggest everyone read them though, especially newer folks to the board....best regards

http://www.network54.com/Index/40998

Posted By: cmoking
Here's my latest SGC submission to get graded:

1 1928 Harrington's 21 EARL COMBS 50
2 1910 Philadelphia Caramel E96 ED KONETCHY 50
3 1909 Croft's Candy E92 BILL O'HARA 40
4 1934-36 Diamond Stars 42 JIMMY DYKES 1935 60
5 1934-36 Diamond Stars 58 GLENN MYATT 1935 50

The Harrington's Combs is the first to be graded by either PSA or SGC (I think) and the O'Hara Croft's Candy is the first graded by SGC (I think only 1 graded by PSA). The Konetchy was in a GAI 4.5 holder previously. The Myatt was in a SGC 60 holder previously (ugh). And the Dykes was in a PSA 5 holder previously.
