Posted By: ScottIngold
How did everyone else do ?

I had wrestling practice with my 6 year old and completly forgot about it..... Lost on all 8 or so lots i bid on. Seemed like there were some pretty good buys to be had.

Posted By: scott brockelman
went to bed at 11:30 and was high on 4 lots with some room and woke up to 3 out of 4 never moving. The only lot I lot out on was an upgrade anyway. Much better than my normal luck.

Scott

Posted By: Frank Wakefield
Well I was happy with it, got the one lot I was after.

Many of the lots came from the estate of a really great collector who grew up as a kid in Lexington, Kentucky. He sounded crusty, was funny as could be, really knew the old stuff. He used to buy T206s in auctions for a few cents each, when they were advertised as "a lot of 14 T206 Cubs cards", and there was a fairly good chance there'd be some HOFers in there. I was glad to see decent prices for his family.

Was surprised that lot #15, the Joe Jackson Sporting News Supplement went for as little as it did, $1100 without juice.

Mr. Goodwin tries to get good stuff, attempts to line up interest in the items prior to the auction, and is a genuinely good fellow. I like his auctions.

Posted By: mark
Those W600 cards are absolutely beautiful. I was suprised to see that the M116 common PSA 6 cards sold for as much as they did. I have a bunch of PSA 7 commons that i paid the same for as the PSA 6 cards in the auction. Go figure.

Posted By: Jeff Mohler
I was the underbidder on the Pinkerton T5 and one of the Rose postcards. Does anyone have any comment on the prices of those two items? I don't keep track of values enough to know whether the high bidders got good deals or not.

Posted By: Bruce MacPherson
I won one of the e93's. I haven't done the math but it appears that the individual card prices for the 93 set exceeded the bid for the total set price.

Posted By: Cat
I put in four early bids and won one. I put an initial bid on the PSA 8 Fan Craze Young. Yikes!!! It went for well over $6K with the vig. My thoughts had been that I would pick it up if I could get it for the $1,500 to $1,800 range.

Posted By: Anthony
2 for 5. Nothing earth shattering. Was going to give a serious run on the '49 PCL set but decided to build the war chest for REA in a few months. Think you got a good deal Alan, based on prior sales. Congrats.
A friend won the T5 and was really happy, so I suspect the price was pretty good.

Posted By: leon
Bill is a great guy and does do advertising on this board. I know he reads it frequently too. I am sure you won't be gigged for not paying on time. I got an email invoice as few days ago. Actually by posting your situation on the board you have yourself covered very well. Bill might have taken a few days off after the auction...though I don't know that for sure.

Posted By: Cat
I haven't called regarding this situation. It was reported before that they had some system problems which was forcing them to send e-mails one-by-one. That has probably occupied their time to a large extent. The lady I have talked to has always been very gracious and well versed in customer service. When I call and ask a question, she has asked me: "Do you need Bill to call you?" Clearly offering whatever help I may need.
