I emailed asking for dimensions and when I got no reply I stayed away.

Police Gazettes are large pink papers. They have no staples. Police Gazette also put out some guides, chiefly around boxing, but there are some with baseball in them also. They are small format and have staples.

I think this is merely a page from one of the small guides.

Thoughts?

Posted By: Lyman
The eBay item is definitely NOT a Police Gazette Supplement. Rather, it is a page out of a Police Gazette Annual. The eBay listing is very misleading in that it does not clearly state its size or that the item is from the Annual and not a PG Supplement.

The 1912 Annual pictured above measures slightly less than 3 x 4-1/2 inches. The Cobb pose (page 53 in the Annual) is shown at approximate full size in Issue #8 (Summer 2006, p. 40) of Old Cardboard magazine along with a number of other different cards, notebook covers and a Darby Chocolate box all featuring the same pose. The article also displays an original photograph from which the cards were produced.

Police Gazette Supplements are entirely different and much larger (11-1/4 by 16-1/4 inches). They are described and fully checklisted in a detailed article written by John Esch in Issue #4 (Summer 2005) of Old Cardboard magazine.

--Lyman
