Posted By: robert a
Has anyone completed e93, e94, e95, e96, e97, and e98?

It's harder than it sounds due to e97 being thrown in there which brings me to the next question:

How many e97 sets do you think are out there? I've tried this set and it absolutely crushed me.

Rob

Posted By: Anonymous
E97 is my nemesis as well.
I will finish the proof set before the real thing.
The other sets are all doable with patience.

Posted By: BcDaniels
as did several other board members and lurkers.

As for e-97s!
Seems I purchased three groups totaling 5k from barry Sloate in 92 or 93!
keep in mind the $5000 was in 1992 card values! I pulled out the ex/mt-mint cards and foolishly gave the balance back to barry who resold them through yet another of his auctions. I built on those to rotate, buy and sell and churn until I had a complete set in fairly high grade averaging a present day GPA of 5.5.

poof! sold the set and kept three singles that are most difficult to find.

BcD

Posted By: barrysloate
Hi Brian- I sure do remember that E97 set and I know I sold one in an auction around 1999, and I thought that is the one you bought. Either way, at the time it meant nothing, it was just another auction lot, but looking at it today, it sure is one I'd like to have back too. Who would have guessed today's prices?
