Posted By: Joe Jones
Please show your favorite pins from your collection. I have recently sold most of my cards to pursue pin collecting. Here are a few that I was lucky to get in return. I will post a few more special pins when they arrive in the mail.

Posted By: Anonymous
Joe, did you buy the Rixey pin off of ebay a few months ago? I sold one that looked very similar to that one a few months ago on ebay. I'm glad it went to someone who has such a nice collection if it is the same pin.

Posted By: Rob Dewolf
Greg, Have you ever seen any other "Oh you ... " pins in this style? My Indians version measures a little more than 3/4 of an inch in diameter. Ditto for your Red Sox?

Posted By: Dan Bretta
Rob that's the first "OH YOU...." pin other than the Red Sox version that I've seen. I know that the Red Sox one was unkown to Paul Muchinsky (The guy who wrote the book on pinbacks). I bet he'd be interested in seeing your Indians one. It is also uncataloged.

Posted By: Rob Dewolf
Dan,

I've also seen an "Oh, you Cubs" version. Same color, same size. I picked up the Indians pin on eBay -- back in the pre-flea-market eBay days -- for less than $10. It even has the paper insert for "The Favorite Cigarettes."

Posted By: Bob
Neal- nice collection. I was within a few pins of the complete P2 set when I consigned mine to Mastro. Although I received a fair price, I still have seller's remorse when I see a collection of those nice pins
Bob

Posted By: Greg
Rob,

That's about the size of the oh you Sox pin. It has a cigarette paper back. I was fortunate to trade it for some other Sox pins with Mike. Thanks again, Mike. They look great in your case. Now all I need are the 1912 WS press pin, the 1918 press, the Royal Rooters celluloid pins, the Carrigan Sock pin, the ........ oh well, too many to mention, I guess (and too little available cash to do so).

Greg

Posted By: David Smith
Well, here is my small contribution to this thread. Pins are another thing I should have collected long ago when I saw more of them and the prices were much cheaper.....

In case you cant see the names, the Cameo Pepsin is Pappaulan, Mrs. Sherlock's is Grover Alexander, Orbit Gum is Burleigh Grimes and Our National Game is Al Simmons. I also have a Cracker Jack pin of Frankie Frisch but can not find it right now.

Thanks for letting me share,

David

Posted By: Mike
To answer your question, that is glare from the scanner, nothing is missing on the face of the pin. It is very very good shape. It is a very strong grade 6. The guy at PSA told me he had never seen one like it. If you look in their Pop report, you will see that I have the only one ever graded. It coincided with the 1936 Spencer shoe promotion after Jimmie was traded to the Red Sox. I also have the Spencer shoe premium Card that was handed out at the same time. Off the top of my head, I can't recall if the premium is graded. I don't think so, because of it's large size. Not everything needs to be graded I guess. But I do it mostly for protection. I already know what the grade is when I buy something. Or at least what it should be. take care.
