Posted By: Andrew
I own it, but not sure what it is? I think the original seller used "stereoview" as a describer. I plan to sell, but didn't know how to list it. The card stock is somewhat heavy.

"Take your life in your own hands and what happens? Posted By: Ryan Christoff
That's obviously Josh Gibson in Japan. Many believe it to be Joe Jackson or Jim Thorpe, but those in the know recognize the backward hands and bat-handle-in-stomach swing. No doubt about it. Gibson in his prime.

-Ryan

Posted By: Robert S
This odd 1925 stereoview depicts a posed "Yale" baseball player. Unlike most stereo cards, this one is printed in color on a white card stock with no curvature. This image is one in a series of posed baseball shots.

I assume yours has no curve to it, like the others that have been documented...
Posted By: Andrew

Robert, is there a source - such as the SCC/SCD - that identifies this as one of a series of posed shots? By curvature, do you mean when looking at it from the side, the paper is concave?

"Take your life in your own hands and what happens? A terrible thing: no one to blame." -- Erica Jong

Posted By: Robert S
Most stereoptic cards are curved when viewed from the side, to enhance the 3-D effect.

Herer are some examples where you can see the curve:

As for a resource -- none with which I am aware.

Posted By: Rob Dewolf
Not to mention that the batter appears to be wearing slippers, is swinging (?) a bat that's about 24 inches long and is hitting something the size of a softball. Otherwise, textbook stuff.
