Posted By: JK
I cant positively ID him, but, if he is pictured at all, my guess is he is the tall guy in the black sweater without any buttons.

Posted By: jim
Yeah Josh, that would have been my guess also. Not sure when this issue of Burr-McIntosh would have been released but if this many other players could have made it, I would have thought Cy would be there also.

Posted By: barrysloate
I can't spot Jimmy Collins either. Something isn't right. Is that the Boston Braves mislabelled "Champions"?

Posted By: jim
The NL Boston team was lousy in 1904, so it would be a pretty good gaffe. Though it is not incomprehensible that the wrong photo was used back in 1904.

Posted By: Adam J. Baxter
This the not the NL team. Can't spot Cy or Collins, but the sixth guy from the left is definitely Candy LaChance. LaChance played for the Boston Americans team in '04.

Nice pickup, btw.

Both teams wore similar jerseys, 'Boston' and drawstrings.

I don't recognize Cy.

The 7th from the L (sweater) is Cyclone's catcher Lou Criger.
The 6thfrom the R (very dark swater) wears the cap from the 1903 Sox.

Lou and Cy;

Posted By: Adam J. Baxter
Seventeen members of the 1904 team have been listed in the previous posts. There are 16 guys in the picture, so maybe Cy is holding the camera?

Posted By: E, Daniel
is that the guy you describe in the 03' photo as possibly being Cy has the most murky non-descript features of the entire line-up, and so does......the guy standing 7th from right in the 04' posted pic.
Both look like they've had their faces photoshop'd with distort in comparison to all the other players in the images, and look somewhat similar. I'm gonna bet the player is the same in both pics., and indeed is Cy. Perhaps his face was so flat there were no real shadows for the photograph to capture..?

Daniel

Posted By: JK
Cy appeared to be a pretty big guy from the pics Ive seen. I dont think there is anyway the man with no face (7th from left in the top pic) could be Cy - he is too thin.

Posted By: Dan Bretta
I really think it's the guy that is 8th from the left. Cy would have been 37 in the picture and I don't think he really ballooned up in size until his last couple of years in Boston.

Posted By: Frank Evanov
I happen to be reading "Cy Young" by Reed Browning right now [kinda tedious.] Here is a picture of the team with Cy taken on October 10,1904. Cy is standing on the far right. I don't think he is present in the postcard above:

Frank
