Posted By: fessgreg
i'm thinking about subscribing to sgc's new service for a year at $100 but i'm not sure how good it is. i collect 7,8,9's in baseball and hockey. anyone have an opinion about this service. i'm not sure their database is good enough to give representative prices on cards. signed greg

Posted By: Frank Evanov
Five star service. I do not sell or bid on EBAY or in other auctions unless I first check the card's recent selling prices on VCP.

VCP allows you to create portfolios of your collection and also to receive e-mail alerts when a card you need is up on EBAY.

Frank

Posted By: aro13
Greg - I use the site all the time and think it is great. However, there is not much in the way of high grade pre-war hockey on the site because so few high end hockey transactions have taken place.

Posted By: Dylan
How does their service compare to cardpricer.com? I have been using cardpricer for a little while now, does vintagecardpricer have quicker updates, or more listings?

Posted By: Joann
I haven't been on VCP yet - not for any particular reason, just haven't been there. I've used cardpricer.com b/c they made their image bank available as a courtesy to collectors far before the full site was ready to go.

I think cardpricer is great - very useful and I refer to it more often as time goes on. I purchased the token option - 100 tokens for $25 or something like that, one token per search, just to see how much I'd use it. As soon as I'm out of tokens I'm converting to monthly subscription.

Joann

We are trying very hard to bring you the best possible place for your collecting investments. We have a lot more to go and adding new features all the time so check the site updates to see the new tools.

Posted By: mark
Did you ever think about giving a 5 or 7 day trial for the site. I do plan on joining but to get collectors to pay you should have them experience what you have to offer.

Posted By: Bobby Binder
Mark,

That is why we have the SGC deal you can sign up and see what the site is all about. Tough it does only give you access to about 11.5% of the total data you get the idea. Last November we had a 2 week free trial period where all Limited Members who created Want Lists and My Collection received a VIP upgrade during that time frame. We will be doing that again in the future probably in May.
