View Full Version : Reveal Ebay Handles??

Posted By: Dave
I know many of the older members here have thier ebay handles listed under the collectors link...but there are many on here who arent and I'm curious to see if anyone would be interested in getting a list together of such? I know personally its a little more comforting in dealing on ebay wiht another member here and perhaps this may be a good way to do so?? Also, I know a couple times I've kept myself from upping the bids on certain items when I've know a member here was the high bidder and needed certain cards worse than myself. If anyone is interested in doing this you could either post it here or send me an email with ebay handle....after whatever list is compiled I could send out an email with everyone's ebay id.....just a thought...if nobody's interested this will drift to page 2 pretty quick....lol

Posted By: Chris Mc
Ebay: jmcalist This was brought up a while back and had a good response from the board. If you search the back pages you can find the thread, if not I will start Ebay handle: jmcalist same as my email and Net54 login. I like to keep it simple. There are quite a few that have different handles to keep track of buying and selling accounts. Best, Chris

Posted By: Ray Piskadlo
Brian and Leon created a list of eBay handles from posters/lurkers last summer. If you click on "Vintage Links", you will find them there.

Posted By: Glen V
glenv on Ebay - I know, very boring and un-original.

BTW, the Vintage Links could use an update. A number of people aren't on the collectors area. Also, the auctions dates are for Sep-Dec '06.

Posted By: barrysloate
While the links are very useful, they haven't been updated in a long time. No new members have been added, and much information is outdated. Mastro Auctions is still listed as Mastronet, to name one. Maybe it would be a worthwhile project to clean up that area.

Posted By: scott brockelman
It appears Ebay will be making most of the higher dollar auctions private, where only a bidder number is shown. They have been doing this on Ebay Auto for awhile and today I saw the T3's carrying this note:

As the internet evolves, eBay continues to strike a balance between preserving transparency and protecting our Community of members. eBay has decided to change how bid history information is displayed so bad guys cannot target bidders with fake offers using this information. In certain cases, some bidders will no longer be able to view Bidder User IDs on the Bid History page. Your User ID will be shown only to you and the seller of the item you're bidding on. Other members will see an anonymous name, such as Bidder 1, applied consistently to the Bid History page.

Scott

SB1

It took me forever to remember that jmk was Joann, for instance. I just learned that Steve Murray is blanchley22 or blachley22.
Lately I have learned who larrylegend1976 (I'll let him reveal himself if he wants to)is so that's another guy from here I have dealt with on cards.
I could list about 25-30 other board members' ebay ids but I'll leave that decision up to them.
Very helpful...

It was ending in about 20 minutes. So I start the process of registering. I tried 2 or 3 combinations with my name, and got nowhere. They were already in use. I paniced and tried a couple of obscure names... taken. I was about to miss my chance at buying a card of The Great Mails!!!! Help!!!! So in desparation, I typed Greatwake and it was accepted. I got a bid in, and won. So the name came from a heat of the moment thing, no great planning, just after a card of The Great Mails. Mails did have a great year in that pennant race.

Frank.

Posted By: barrysloate
I spoke with Brian McQueen today and he requested that all additions to this list be made no later than noon on Saturday. He will try to work on it over the weekend and decided a deadline would be helpful. Thanks for everyone who supplied this information.

Posted By: Brian McQueen

To answer someone's question, yes, I did notice that this project had been handed to me

I went ahead and updated the list with most of the information in this thread. If I skipped you, it's probably because I didn't have your last name or other sufficient data to make an entry in the table (ie...Dennis' post directly above)

I'm 100% confident that I screwed something up on this list so let me know if I made any goof-ups. Otherwise, I'll consider the project completed.

Take care everyone,
Brian
