Posted By: David Hornish
I am wondering if anyone has photocopies/scans of certain issues. I am missing Nos. 25, 26, 27, 32 and anything past #48. I'd like to complete the run and from what I read #49 was never issued but #50 was.....any help appreciated.

I can offer scans/copies in return, please contact me off list as this is a borderline B/S/T I think.

Dave

Posted By: Judge Dred (Fred)
There is no issue #49. From what I understand there is an issue 50 and 51.

The following is the run as I know it:

1 - 5
5A
6
6A
7 - 34

Note that issues 1 - 34 were done on heavy stock paper.

The following is a break down of issues 35 - ???

Issues 35 and later were done on very thin "newspaper" type stock. I believe that issue 38 does not have the issue number on the title page like the others do. The only thing that would shoot a hole in that theory is that the copyright is 1990 for what I think is issue 38. Issue 35 has a copyright date of 1991. Issues 36 - 38 have a 1990 copyright. Issues 39 - 41 have a 1991 copyright date. Issues 42 - 46 have a 1992 copyright. Issues 47/48 (copyright 1993) was a double issue. Lew said there was no 49 but I don't have issues 50 or 51. If they exist, I'd like to see them.

Every once in a while you can find a run of these periodicals on ebay. The last full run was broken down into series of 5 issues each. The first grouping (issues 1-5) went for about $12. The following issues all went for about $25 - $40 per grouping of 5 issues.

Old hobby periodicals are great to look at. Older hobby auction catalogs also have a lot of neat graphics. The old auction catalogs are great reference material but the periodicals had some interesting commentary and articles.

The older SCD issues and The Trader Speaks are always kind of fun to look at. If you can pick them up cheap they're worth the nostalgia trip.

Posted By: leon
I agree there is no #49 (never seen one) but I am sitting here looking at #50. It came out on Jan 1994 and was 8 pages. I have never heard there was a #51. The #50 was the first issue since the previous January. It was stated it (#50) was the last issue in the opening comments. Hope this helps....
