Posted By: Bryan Long
I have a strange question. I am looking for a lawyer in
Los Angles County in California that may know about Birth Certificate laws.
My brother is wanting to get a certified copy of his birth certificate, but
is being told by people in Cali that only a few select people within the
family can sign to have one given to them. The catch is that they must sign
the document in person - not easy to do when you are in Ohio
Needless-to-say my brother does not have the money to fly to Cali just to
get his certificate. To wrap this up I was hoping a lawyer in LA would be
able to clarify what the heck he can do to get his birth certificate.

I don't want to use the board for anything but baseball cards, but I figured
that someone on there may be able to help me out.

* NOTE: I checked with Leon first to make sure that this was OK. I guess I am using my one OT for the year

Any help would be wonderful - I would be happy to call anyone to talk over the phone.

Thanks in advance

.

I did not do it on the net, but used the telephone and a credit card. Never signed a thing.

https://www.vitalchek.com/agency_locator.asp?eventtype=birth

Frank.

Posted By: leon
Hey Bryan,
You are a great guy and valued board member. When you emailed last night it was an easy decision to let this go. As long as these OT's aren't too frequent (and they aren't and won't be) I see this as a very valuable service for our family on the board. As I said I also very much appreciate you checking with me first. Rarely have I denied anybody doing something but there have been a few instances where I said it might not be the best thing..Thanks also to Mr.Wakefield.........best regards

Many,many thanks.
I'm glad that Bryan could be helped so quickly and expertly by Frank as well. It does look like a great New Year is already beginning on this fine board.
all the best and Happy New Year,

Barry
