Posted By: Dave
I doubt many people here would have to be told, but for anyone that wouldn't know enough, this is one to stay away from. I actually emailed the guy for the fun of it and asked why he didn't send it in to get it graded himself. His response " I just sent in 25 cards to PSA and don't have enough money left, so I'll let this one go". Yeah, sure.

http://cgi.ebay.com/1909-1911-T206-Sherry-Magie-error-Magee-tobacco-card_W0QQitemZ110071043470QQihZ001QQcategoryZ86840 QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Posted By: Dave
He actually had a BIN of $299 a few minutes ago when he first listed it, now thats gone. Someone aware of PSA that sends cards to get graded but doesn't send this one because he just spend $300? Sure. He also mentioned to me there is no factory number on the back of the card...

Posted By: Bob
It's amazing how many reprinted tobacco cards show up in estate sales. I have never seen a single tobacco card at an estate sale, real or reprint....

Posted By: Dave G
But still the best type of story in this vein is the number of calls I get from people who want me to make an offer on the rare Honus Wagner card they have - they are prepared to take less than the $1.4 million that its worth. I ask how they know the card is worth $1.4 Million - and their response "..because it says so on the back of the card....." duhhhhhh

Posted By: Todd
My favorite line in bryanshaw0605's Magie listing was that he is "not the original owner" of the card. Until he divulged that tidbit, I naturally assumed that he must have pulled it from a pack of Piedmonts ninety-seven years ago.
