Posted By: Doug Allen
Hey Guys,

Figured I should start a new thread since the other one turned just a bit political!

Sorry about the delayed response. Traveling through Michigan and Indiana the past two days gathering collections for April...not intending to do a commercial here but picked up a few nice browns champs, N172 Delahanty, Gypsy Queen, high grade N162s, blank backed T205 Matty (pretty cool), and some other treats. Sorry but I do love my job!

The crooks have not yet been caught. They fenced some of the material and it was recovered. We made very sure that everyone who could have been contacted would know that the material was stolen....anonymous gentleman who returned it figured it was too hot...he said as much. My client is thrilled to have it back but keep in mind the best stuff has not yet been returned!

I talked to my friend/client today and he very appreciative of everyones efforts. With the holiday weekend coming up I re-engaged my team to put out the word locally to hobby shops, pawn shops etc.

I will provide more information when it comes available.

All the best,
Doug

Posted By: leon
Thanks for starting a new thread. I was going to but it's better coming from yourself as you are close to the situation. I will try to keep this thread a little more on topic and on the front page for a while...sounds like nice stuff in future auctions too ......take care

Posted By: EcardCollector
The person that purchased the stolen cards and then reported them, was he reimbursed for his purchase? Did he deal with the theaves himself or through someone? I'd imagine you could get to the theives if you have a buyer.

Posted By: ralph
That is a very good point, what about the fellow who bought the hot cards, was he payed back.
What if a guy walked up to you at a show with a T205 Cobb, you buy it for a "steal" of a few hundred bucks. Then you hear a T205 Cobb is hot, you go running to the promoter and tell him right. You dont tuck the Cobb in your shirt pocket and move on...do you ?
What about the 2nd or 3rd hand stolen item..its been sold a few times when if offered to you..again...a steal..a CJ Big Train Johnson..you buy cheaply..then do you announce thru the crowd " if this card has been stolen..I will return it gladly" ..you do that...right ?
