New Mission started.....SOVEREIGN-only T206 set

Posted By: <b>Ted Zanidakis</b><p>Now, that I have proved to myself that the "Monster" can, to a certain degree, be "tamed"<br />by putting together a 518 card PIEDMONT-only set, I'm embarking on an all-SOVEREIGN set.<br /><br />At most there could be a possible 469 different cards to attain a complete set of Sovereigns.<br />This certainly is somewhat easier than the Piedmont set......therefore, I am going to enhance<br />this challenge by taking Scot Reader's suggestion and acquire the difficult SOV 460 cards for<br /> the six "Super Prints" in the T206 set (shown here).....<br /><br />If anyone on this Forum has any of these cards with SOV 460 backs....and are willing to sell<br />or trade them....please contact me.....ccooney@princeton.edu<br /><br />T-Rex TED<br /><br /><img src="http://www.freephotoserver.com/v001/tedzan/a6superprints.jpg">

These six subjects are theoretically possible with 27 different backs but they do appear with Sov 460 from time to time. I think I have seen most, if not all, of these six with Sov 460 once or twice on eBay since '03.<br />Scot

I am 33% on the way to acquiring<br />these tough SOV 460 guys.<br /><br />And, from the 460-only Series, I suspect Kleinow (Boston) and Smith (Bos/Chi) do not<br /> exist with SOV 460 backs.<br />Therefore, I only need to acquire 52 cards = 46 - (460 only) and the 6 Superprints.<br /><br />I now have 40 + 2 = 42 (Sov 460 cards)......only 10 to go from this series. That's a<br />pretty good start.<br /><br />Thanks again....and can you confirm my thoughts on Kleinow and Smith ?<br /><br />T-Rex TED

Posted By: <b>Scot Reader</b><p><br />Ted,<br />Very good point you raise about Kleinow and Smith. I don't recall having ever seen Kleinow (Boston) or Smith (C&B) with Sovereign 460. As you know, the team captions of these subjects reflect trades that happened just before the 460-series print run. It's quite possible they never made it to print with Soverign 460. I'd be interested to know if there are any other 460-only subjects you are unable to find with Sov 460 after exhaustive search.<br />Scot
