Posted By: leon
Remember this is not a popularity vote. I have never seen a D303 in anything above a 5....however, I have seen a few real nice E107's. I was underbidder years ago on the Plank E107 in an 8 holder......

Posted By: Wesley
The PSA 8 Plank is an exceptional card. Out of 88 E107s PSA has graded, the Plank is the one and only 8. There are no 7s or even 6s. PSA has graded four 5s total.

Posted By: leon
The Plank E107 was around 18k plus juice...but this was 5 or more years ago...before they skyrocketed.....3 yrs ago decent HOF'ers were less than a thousand and then the **it hit the fan and the rest is history...

Posted By: robert a
T209, E100, and other minor league issues must've been printed on cheaper stock since they tend to have the same flaking around the borders which leads to the low grades.

T213-1 and E97 B & W could be added to the list due to the very thin stock that makes them very difficult to find in high grade.

Posted By: Brian McQueen

I threw the Lections on there as a "dark horse" in the running However I voted for this set and feel cards from this issue are some of the most beat, hole-punched, worn examples ever seen. I sorta feel you can find examples from the other sets that look nice but when was the last time you saw a Lections that wasn't hideous?

Posted By: Brett
Just becaue PSA has only graded a few e107 PSA 5s and up doesn't mean thats all the 5+ out there. How many are graded by SGC ? How many are not even graded at all ?

I'd also like to see this e107 Plank PSA 8 !!

Posted By: Peter Thomas
You are breaking my heart with the Plank. I bought the card raw @ 95 national and had it graded I though it would be a 7 but came back an 8. Never should have auctioned it. Still would like to know where it now resides.

Posted By: barrysloate
Brian could have included E221 Bishops, which due to their size and paper content are almost always beat up. I remember having two beauties about 10 years ago, but most range poor to good. But they are currently unslabbable (is that a word?).

Posted By: Bryan Long
I have seen my share of Lections and have yet to see a high grade example. Has any truth come to knowledge about how these were distributed? These cards are just beat all to heck. I would love to see a high grade one if anyone here has one to share.

E107s are tough but high grade has been seen and auctioned off. Along with the others - there may not be many around but we have all seen one at one time or another.

Lections - I think - are the clear vote.

.

Posted By: fkw
There is a EX-NRMT Lections Ruth floating around somewhere. I saw it about 3-4 years ago, but lost the picture.

I believe the kids kept them in their pockets on a daily basis and got them cancelled with holepunches sometimes after redeaming them for something. ????

It would have to be something like that since the Lections card stock is one of the thickest and sturdiest Ive seen, and most are all beat up with creases.

Posted By: Jon Canfield
Bryan,

I own all of the "highest graded" Lections from the SGC registry. I will post scans of them when I get home from the office. Off the top of my head, I remember there is a 50, maybe some 40's and a 20 (and two 10's)? However, SGC HAMMERED them. I have a Hornsby with a little pencil writing on the front - I think "1.80" is written and they would only give it a 10. Had I, dare I say, erased the pencil before submitting, it would surely have been a 50, too. The one I have that is a 50 is gorgeous. To how it only got a 50 is beyond me - I can't figure out the grading sometimes. None of the ones I have are punched. My Ruth is rough - lots of creases. I have never seen the nice Ruth. I know of one other Ruth that isn't punched and it is as bad as mine.

Posted By: Jon Canfield
Here are the Lections... The Schmidt is not deserving of the grade. I can't find a single thing wrong with it... should be an 80.. 70 minimum.

Posted By: Dan Kravitz
How about 1912 Garters or e125's? I think there are a ton of issues that are hard to find in decent quality. If I look that good after 100 years, I will be extremely pleased. BOO!
