Posted By: <b>Robert Lifson</b><p>If you read the introduction to this ad you’ll see that it notes that “some of the cards may have back damage” but really, the funny thing about Bob Wilson’s cards was that ALL of his cards had back damage! He mounted all his cards on shirt cardboards with scotch tape, usually with two pieces per card. That’s how he stored and displayed them. He had a lot of really rare cards, especially nineteenth century cards such as Joseph Halls and large N175 Gypsy Queens. It was scary trading or selling cards to him because if you ever wanted to get them back and were successful they’d have tape on the backs. Barry Sloate and others probably remember an N175 Gypsy Queen of Kelly with tape on the back that has changed hands a few times over the years. I think Barry may even have sold it years ago. That was a Bob Wilson card from his primary collection. He had some real rarities – all with tape.

This is an original Book of Checklists by Charles Bray, from 1950. This was Walt Corson's personal book that he kept his cards checklisted in. Mr.Corson sold his collection to Frank Nagy and there was a short story written not too long ago about the escapade. Mr.Corson added numerous sheets to fill this in too....I love how the first page is of a guy relaxing looking at his book. It's a bygone era.
