Posted By: Paul
There have been some previous threads about the "Trinidad" cards from Cuba, and how they are probably fake. All the past ones were in pretty nice condition, but there's one on ebay now with a nice touch -- bugholes. I'll defer to the Cuban experts on this, but every bughole I've ever seen in a Cuban card has been a perfect circle. These are not.

http://cgi.ebay.com/TRINIDAD-Card-BASEBALL-Star-TALUA-DANDRIDGE-Cuba-50s_W0QQitemZ190029594408QQihZ009QQcategoryZ60482Q QrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I am also at a loss regarding how you artificially create elongated holes in a card, without it being obvious.

If these bug holes or the card is fake, it sure would fool me. But on this subject, that ain't as hard today as it is going to be.

Posted By: Jeff Mohler
To change the topic a little bit, does anyone know or have any experience with the seller? I bought a second series Aguilitas from him. It is at SGC for grading, but I am wondering now if the card it authentic. I don't have a scan of the card, so I can't post it for the experts on the board.

Jeff Mohler

Posted By: Rick
the seller is good, i have bought very nice items from them.

However these cards are probably fake and they dont know it...It looks to me like they just buy a bunch of stuff from big collections but they might not have the actual expertise to know a fake from a real card....especially a real good fake.

Posted By: Gilbert Maines
Cobby: does that apply to perfectly symmetrical elliptoids, rhombuses, tetrahedrons and circles? How about bug holes shaped like Elvis? Cap Anson? Madonna (either one)?

Posted By: fkw
I have seen bugholers that are egg shaped. The round ones are when the worm went straight through the card, the egg shaped ones are when the worm went at an angle through the card. I have even seen holes that are longer like a tiny router made it when the worm went through a stack of cards or an album at a close to horizontal angle.

That Dandridge proves there are at least 2 of them, as I have scan of a Dandridge without bugholes.

******OK here you go...... another mystery!!!

Why is this card (below) a different pose and spelled different from the bugholes Dandridge???

Ha ha this damn set is a pain in the @$$!

Posted By: fkw
Seller is good, he just may not be an expert on cards, but he has had some rare stuff from Cuba in the past. I have bought from him about 10 times.

Posted By: David Vargha
I have had no problems with the seller in buying a couple of decent Cuban issues from him (With the Ryan C. stamp of approval). He even let me back out of an item the Ryan said was a fake with no issue whatsoever.

DavidVargha@hotmail.com

Posted By: NickM
Find some dry goods (spaghetti, cereal, etc.) that have sat around long enough to get bugs in them. Open them up and put them on top of the card. A couple weeks later you will have genuine bugholes.
