Posted By: Joann
Interesting. Someone had a similar 10 Most Wanted Cards a few months ago. Here was my list from that thread:

1. 1933 Goudey Ruth - either the red or yellow portrait
2. N28 Oakley - got a deal for one, but don't have it yet so it counts
3. N162 Brouthers
4. Any K-zoo Bats card, but pref of a player w/Detroit connection
5. 1869 Peck and Snyder Reds
6. N29 Getzin (Getzien)
7. E107 any Detroit player
8. 19th Century card w/actual female player/players - not posed. Rob M had one for sale about 6 months ago - a cabinet I think that one was.
9. T227 Cobb
10. 1941 PB Gehringer

I've knocked off

#1: Have a great Goudey Ruth red on the way. Someone said awhile back that the red is a dull and boring card. I don't think so - I'm thrilled to have one on it's way.

#2: My N28 Oakley just has to be one of my favorites.

#6: Didn't think I'd ever get an N29 Getzin, and now have two. One from a board member, and then a chance to upgrade within a few weeks. Keeping both for now - I really like them.

And ... not trying to advertise for anyone or anything like that, but the top two on my list were knocked off courtesy of Toby. I swear that man could find a card of the Last Supper if you set him off looking for it!

Revised Top 5 (revised for changing tastes, and to reflect acquistions):

In no particular order

1. E95 Cobb - that scarlet background ...
2. E107 Any Detroit player
3. N162 Brouthers
4. 1869 Peck and Snyder Reds
5. 19th Century w/female players, not posed

Joann

Posted By: Gilbert Maines
I guess that I am out of phase here. I just won tonight one of the top cards on my list: a 1931 w517 Klein in vg condition - I got it for less than $40. which I thought was good. But looking at some of the cards which you guys want, $40. may not pay for the insurance.

What about does anyone out there have any of these 5 at all, even if you aren't inclined to sell at this time???

I'd like to know, I feel like there aren't many of these out there at all.

Frank.
